HSF Reaching Out

• We are a member of the South Coast Interfaith Council. We support the SCIC through financial contributions and through active involvement by our Pastor and our members.

• Members of our congregation chair the "GLBTA People of Faith" task force (South Coast Interfaith Council) that meets monthly to promote understanding of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered persons. We act as a resource to congregations desiring to become "Welcoming" and/or "Open and Affirming" and to act as a source of fellowship and support.

• Pastor Duane is the co-president of the Long Beach Religious Leader's Assn., which is an interfaith organization that meets monthly to promote unity between people of faith. They discuss topics of interest to religious leaders and co-sponsor special events in the community of faith such as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration.

• Our HSF Deacon's Fund provides financial assistance to persons in need or to organizations that provide for the wellbeing of others. Contact Pastor Duane via our "Email" link for further details.

• We sponsor a team of walkers each year for AIDS Walk Long Beach, which funds support and education programs to help combat the effects of the HIV/AIDS virus.

• We are instrumental in organizing "Gospel Share," a yearly Christian community praise and fellowship celebration. Choirs from area churches come together to sing God's praises and meet with one another.

  
  
• We help organize and participate in a gay, lesbian, and straight "Combined Choir" which sings at area events and churches.

• We have an audio tape ministry that provides weekly recordings of our Saturday worship service to any interested person. The tapes are mailed on request for a small donation.
